Very vibrant colors from the qd oled panel but flickers wayyyyyyyy too much compared to my aw3225qf. I know it’s inherently how oleds are in nature but the flickering is just unbearable and completely destroys the immersion while gaming. I decided to return this and keep my current monitor.

After a few weeks of use, this monitor has proved to be one of the best displays I have owned. The colors are outstanding and it was incredibly easy to set up and configure. Happy with my purchase and will be buying from MSI again.

Just set my monitor up a couple days ago and couldn’t be happier with it. The build quality is top notch and monitor stand was very easy to attach. I bought this monitor mainly for the high refresh rate and picture quality and I must say it looks amazing in person all the colors really pop. The 34 inch screen with a 1800R curve really lets me become fully immersed into whatever game I am playing. Overall, this is my first 3440 x 1440p QD OLED monitor and it has fully lived up to my expectations so far, but if anything changes I’ll be sure to update.

Keywords here Adaptive Sync and VRR flickering. It’s pretty bad for most the low frame rate games and does decently for high paced games.

Anything with dark scenes and quick speed is a horrible combination.

Disabling VRR is fine but what’s the point of getting a high refresh rate and a decent GPU if not to go insane on the frames.

Reading reviews it’s hit and miss, and depends on hardware and the game. This is in firmware 0.20, AMD 7700X with a 1080 Ti thru DP cable.

This monitor is unreal. I have not had any issues with VR flickering. The colors are amazing
Cables are ugly though and theres no way to really hide them

Beautiful image but some VRR flickering.

After months of waiting for a sale, I finally picked up this monitor during the 2024 Black Friday sale. No regrets so far!

There’s not much to say that’s not already covered in extensive reviews on this monitor so I’ll just address some concerns that were brought up.

Text Clarity – this monitor has a diamond shaped subpixel layout that supposedly can make text slightly jagged and hard to read. I haven’t noticed anything like this. I did adjust cleartype in Windows to what looked best to me. I could see this being an issue if the text is extremely small; however, at normal zoom levels it hasn’t been an issue

Brightness – out of the box this monitor is too bright (unless you are in a fully lit room with direct light falling on it). I had to adjust it down to 26 brightness in my controlled light environment. Adding an LED strip bias lighting to the monitor has also helped. In a completely dark room, you may need to turn down the brightness even more as otherwise while text (or other elements) are so bright they get a bit of a halo effect around them.

VRR Flicker – Did not notice any while playing same games at around 50-70 fps (much lower than the monitors 240hz)

OLED Care – It did come up after the first 4h of continous use, but I deferred it. The next time the monitor went into sleep mode it performed the OLED care. So far I haven’t been interrupted during my actual usage. We’ll see how it holds up.

Want to start off by saying MSI released a firmware update on 1/17/2025 that fixes VRR flicker and the peak 1000 nits brightness issue – an issue no other OLED manufacturer has fixed yet.

Now with that aside, this is the greatest monitor I have ever owned. Cyberpunk 2077, Max settings, looks like real life. It’s breath taking. The colors, contrast ratio, black level, everything are memorizing. Absolutely worth the money if you have a high end PC to max out games on.

The only negative I have are with the input connection s. They are on the bottom left of the display and are super low so it’s almost impossible to hide the cables. It’s a bit annoying but you can make it work to maintain a clean setup.

Coming from a 32″ 1920×1080 165Hz 1ms LG panel to the MSI QD-OLED UltraWide is a pretty clear distinction. The depth of black and range of colors pop the second it turned on.

Marvel Rivals with the 240Hz refresh and low response time has helped me go from bottom rung bronze to bottom rung silver! I’m not very good, but dang does it look good losing.

**Only giving 4 stars for now as I’m not sure of the longevity of these panels just yet. Update to come.**

The RTings rating for this monitor is extremely helpful.

    Good: settings access, weight, size.
Bad: brightness (display with black shades in monitor for some games with the PlayStation 5 pro.

    Overall: 4.5/5.

Arrived quick and intact, easy to setup, the cords could be a little bit longer but at least they are high quality (8k). Picture is good.

I haven’t had the monitor for too long, but so far I really love it. The image quality is excellent out of the box. Not surprising as rtings.com had this listed as one of the best widescreen monitors you can buy right now. The build quality feels really good as well.

There have been a few hiccups as I’ve been getting it set up with my PC – my only complaint right now is that I wish the menu items in the monitor gave you more information about what they were doing. Some of it is a little vague, but the manual is helpful. This is a very minor complaint. Also, I wish I had more control over the size of the monitor overlays. You can change the position of them, but not the size. Lastly, anothery small gripe, the physical location of the power and input connectors is too low. The cables all hang off the bottom of the monitor in a way that makes it impossible to dress them nicely and give a clean appearance. This is only an aestetic problem though and I’m the type of person that would much rather have a rock solid performance/experience than compromise so things can be a pretty.

I know it looks like I have more complaints than positive points, but the complaints really are minor. Overall, I’m thrilled to have this monitor. OLED HDR gaming is something you just have to see in person. It’s awesome.
