The DDR5 versions is much better based benchmarks online and at this time it is $10 more. When you are looking at 10-20 FPS difference on low end gaming this can be a huge difference. I’m assuming the high rating is because other people were in the same situation as myself. They needed a discrete low-profile card on an older system. This card is the worst option.

    Pros:
*Might be faster than CPU integrated graphics. (Most reviews don’t compare DDR4 and DDR5 version of the card).
    *It is low profile.

    Cons:
*Much Slower than 1030 with DDR5.
    *Misleading.

Before you say you should research things, well, maybe Nvidia shouldn’t blatantly misrepresent what they are selling. I understand it says DDR4 in the details of the card Nvidia should have released this as a completely different card like a 1020 to signify lower performance. It isn’t like they didn’t know it had worse performance, they knew it. AMD typically relabels the product so I least you can tell at face value there is a difference (better or worse).

At this stage I should have gone with my gut and probably gone with the AMD RX 550 low profile, but I wanted to give Nvidia a try. AMD RX 550 has DDR5 in all models, more RAM and hardware encoding if you need that.

People complain about AMD marketing, but what about this card from Nvidia?

I bought this to go into an older Dell tower computer (Optiplex 9020 MT) so I could use it with my TV to stream video. I needed a basic video card which would give me HDMI output, as the Dell’s onboard video did not have such a connector. I also wanted to upgrade the graphics capabilities a bit – I’m steaming video, not playing modern video games. This card is NOT sufficient for modern video games.

Installation was easy. The Dell had Windows 10 on it, and it recognized the card and installed some drivers to get me going. I went to the NVidia website and downloaded their drivers for this card, and installed them. I thought I was good to go. However, I found that every time I shut off my monitor, the computer would crash/reboot shortly after turning the monitor back on. I never had a problem while the monitor remained on – but when I shut it down, a reboot was inevitable.

After some research, I found that there are 2 branches of drivers for this card. One is the “Studio” branch (the one I started with) which is supposedly better tested and more stable, and the “Game Ready” drivers, which are more cutting edge. I was shocked to see the version of the “Studio” drivers was WAY behind the “Game Ready” driver version. Apparently, there is a known issue with the studio drivers crashing if they have problems negotiating a connection to a monitor. I have an odd setup where I am using a HDMI splitter for my computer video to pipe video to both a 25” monitor and a big screen TV. Apparently, the studio drivers weren’t happy with that setup. So, after uninstalling the “Studio” drivers and installing the “Game Ready” drivers, I’ve had no issues. Apparently that issue was fixed somewhere along the way between the “Studio” drivers and the “Game Ready” drivers. So now, everything works perfectly for me.

It helps me run you tube and android programs at the same time. Definitely worth its value if it fits.

This is a wonderful product, Easy to install into my pc and to modify the supports so that it could fit into my pc. I’ve never had a graphics card before but now that I do it’s stronger than ever before. It’s good enough to run genshin and balders gate pretty good which is what I wanted. I recommend doing your research before buying a graphics card but if you find this one is compatible with your PC and you can get it at a good price then I would recommend it.

Works perfectly fine for a Dell 9020 for low-mid end gaming and videos.

20240815: Had intermittent Graphics issue on Desktop. Narrowed to Graphice card. Bought this one and installed easily. Working great so far. No issues. Reasonable price. However, I do not stress the video as no gaming, just normal spreadsheet and word processing along with occassional web surfing…

Great for mid level gaming. I’ve had my optiplex 3020 for 10 years and am attached to it. Recently got back into pc gaming and this sped up game play on my ancient machine ten fold!

I bought this for a levono PC which needed the low profile card and this was the best card to fit the PC in a very small space. I installed it very easily and this works perfectly.

The card works wonderfully! It provides HDMI for HD and UHD display. It also has a DVI port for a second monitor/display.

I recently upgraded my computer to Windows 11 only to find out that my existing graphics card was not supported. I found this on sale (50% off) at Amazon and it works like a champ. The NVidia “GForce Experience” and driver software were easy to download, but it gave me an outdated driver. The GForce Experience would download the updated driver but would not let me install it. I finally had to go to the NVidia website to get the updated driver and install it manually.

Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone needing a graphics card for Windows 11.

On one hand, this product does what it is supposed to. It installs easily, uses hardly any power (this is basically the only GPU that safely can be run with a 180 watt power supply), and is a slight improvement over older integrated graphics. With that being said, the improvement is VERY slight, I honestly think that the best thing it does is allows you to free up more RAM because the integrated graphics are no longer needed and using up RAM. This is not really usable for gaming, Minecraft or Valorant will run but it is so-so and you will need graphics on low. The fans were pretty quiet and the device never failed me. It wasn’t what I needed though so I ultimately decided to return it. I can’t give it a bad score because it isn’t meant for gaming, but it is perfectly adequate for streaming movies and general uses. With that said, idk that there is much use for this gpu over simply sticking with integrated graphics.
