I’m not just reviewing this board all Gigabyte motherboards in general. I’ve had 6 different Gigabyte boards from a Z390 on a 9700k to this board I just bought last week. I’ve myself never had a serious problem with any board from Gigabyte before. The worst problem I’ve seen was forced to use PCIE 3.0 on the videocard that used 4.0 on a board that had 4.0, that was fixed later on in a BIOS update. Other than that they’ve been stable, higher than usual amp ratings even on there lower tier boards Elites, Pro’s. Better than normal thermals, never had to worry about thermal throttling even when over clocking.
Just great all around.
And, I can’t say this about any other brand. ASUS nothing but trouble I’ve had three of there boards none lasted over a year if it worked at all. MSI is 50/50 with 2 of there boards I’ve used. The only other brand I’ll recommend but still don’t have the same confidence, is ASRock been really surprised with them lately. Packed with features, and been good but only had two different boards with them. So gigabyte has my vote when it comes to motherboards hands down. Hope this helps your purchase.
############. New thoughts on this board
Ya I’ve changed my mind about this board. I’ve given everything I could to make it act right. It just does not…. I’m relatively good at figuring out what’s what. What’s causing whatever issue I may be having. I know how to test the boards I buy. I’ve always been able to figure out what’s going on and fixing it and never have another issue with said board until it just it’s time to die maybe years later usually. But this board hasn’t been right since I purchased it. It’s never acted right, BIOS issues RAM issues. I even bought a code reader just so I knew it was unfixable. Even though I already suspected it was. I’ve tried 4 different PSU, 3 different DDR5 RAM sets. All supported by this board. Hell I even tried a set for Intel no difference. It’s never been able to qflash correctly, trust me I’ve tried every slot and made sure I got the right build for this board. And I’ve used qflash before I know how it works. I’ve tried onboard graphics and 4 different GPUs. I just wanted to be sure it was this board. It maybe worked for 2 months and this was very light use… But it never restarted right, it would always hang up. Then finally it just loops. Will never boot up. And yes I’ve tried every trick in the book. Even stuff I’ve seen on different msg boards just to be thorough. And like I said the code reader. It tells me everything is great as it restarts over and over. So I’ve given up. I would not suggest this board. The money you save isn’t Worth it. Like I’m said gigabyte has never done me wrong but this board is just wrong. It’s the worst thing I’ve had to put up with since I bought it. Stay away IMO. Any other gigabyte board might be ok just not this one. And no I don’t go around making bad post on everything I buy. Actually this is probably the one time I’ve made a neg post on Amazon. That just should tell you how much this piece has bothered me.

This is a solid entry for a b650 board. The biggest con to it is that it doesn’t take Sata SSDs, so plan accordingly (had to get an enclosure for mine). But it takes plenty of regular sata drives, and it’s held up well for me. The IO in the back is fine, usb-c is nice to see on a more budget board. Bios is fairly easy and intuitive to operate. It’s had zero problems for the months I’ve owned it. It’s got a decent amount of overclocking options, but I’m not into that enough to really say whether it’s good for that or not. But b650 is a great architecture to get into, since AMD has promised support for it for ages.

Great heatsinks and motherboard plug options. Has everything you will ever need! Mine had no coil whine, I tried 2 boards just to make sure. The coil whine issue is really overstated. Nice fan headers, RGB headers, and place for m2 ssds. Heatsink on the VRM is top notch, not that it’s needed anyway. GPU retention clip is nicely made, and quality motherboard with enough USB ports for anyone. Has the gen2 2×2 USB for future proofing. Don’t be afraid to buy it used, and save some money. The coil whine issue is overstated. High quality all around and POSTed first try with both boards. My bios boot time in task manager is 11-12 seconds. From power off to windows desktop is about 18 seconds.
Excellent product, great job Gigabyte!!

The micro ATX market is limited on options and the B650m Aorus Elite AX checks the boxes for connectivity, features and a good power set for a solid price point. Other board options sacrifice ports/ headers or power to meet this price point. The only other option offering similar connectivity options for m-ATX was more than double the price.
A great performing and great looking motherboard to base your m-ATX build.
Nice work, Aorus!

Worked for the new AMD 8700G right out of the box! For a b650m board i was impressed with what it offers, price and function. 8700g/ 32GBDDR5-6000/990 EVO 1TB M.2 NVMe i have a simple setup playing all recent titles on 1080p dual monitor. i would recommend and buy again.

This board seemed like a good option with some of the features while not being crazy expensive. Installation was like any other motherboard. I well say that the spacing on the 1x pcie riser was very good. My GPU is a 2 and then some slot. This still left plenty of clearance for a network card underneath. If your willing to get a board without wifi this has been great. No boot issues. First power on was with no issues. Speeds have been exactly what I expected from the specs. Good board with everything you need and some bells and whistles. This was the cheapest board with an argb header. Not needed but I wanted the option.
