I have to say; I love this phone! I am a BLU fanboy and I have had several BLU phones over the past few years! The price is so reasonable, I have no trouble buying the latest BLU phone after only a year to a year and a half of use. I have had this G9 for a month now and I have to say, I really love it! The screen is a perfect size, the quality is in line with the purchase price. The 4gb of ram is perfect, you really don’t want less than 4gb these days. The 64gb of storage is perfect also! I have my phone running as I like, and I still have plenty of space, no need for an SD card at this time. The camera is adequate and it is good enough for me! I went on vacation and used my G9 as my only camera to track my journey and the pictures are fine! I don’t need a super camera as I take just regular no fuss photos. I am very satisfied with the camera app and the pictures. I love the placement of the finger print scanner. It just feels right and is very quick! I am using the clear case which came with the camera. The phone is very thin and I am a person who likes bulk, so I can grasp the phone better, so I have ordered a thicker case. I also upgraded the screen protector to a nicer glass unit. The phone is quick and I have not noticed any lag. The battery is a nice size. I can get a couple of days between charging and it charges pretty fast! The main reason I replace my BLU phone semi regular is BLU doesn’t update their phone’s software! You can forget any OS updates to the newest and latest version of Android! That doesn’t happen with BLU. They rarely update their software or security patches. For the price, I can live with this. If I want the latest and greatest Android OS, I just but the latest BLU phone. At their price point, it is an easy transaction. I feel this G9 is a perfect match between function and price!

I’m cheap when it comes to mobile devices, $30 -$60 at Wal-Mart cheap. This is by far the most expensive device I’ve ever purchased, my previous was a Samsung j3 orbit, In comparison I’d say this G9 is far superior in every aspect. I’m especially liking the fingerprint sensor, it’s a million times faster than using a pattern and will automatically unlock the phone to the homescreen on contact.

My only issue is really more confusion than anything, it tells me I need to program the new apn settings in order to use data services, however everything works properly and I haven’t setup anything besides the Sim which was as simple as going through the straight talk website after purchasing a Sim kit from Walmart.

I went from having a struggling one bar of signal to having full service. This phone is way faster. No lag at all. The camera is a little tedious starting out but once you get used to it it does take some pretty good quality shots. My screen protector that was included was cracked but that’s not an issue at all, I’d say if you are looking for a quality upgrade for a reasonable price this is definitely a good choice, or at least it was for me. If your pictures are blurry try using a steadier hand especially in 52mp mode. Great device so far… If it takes a crap in a week I’ll update with something a little more negative. But as for now i have nothing but good things to say.

Edit: it’s been about a month now and the phone is still working well, the battery life is not holding up as well as when first received, I get around 6 hours on a full charge with frequent useage at low brightness just letting YouTube play music through aux cord vs. the 11 – 13 hours with 100% brightness per charge using Bluetooth when first received. So the batteries ability to hold charge has depleted drastically in a very short time. If i could order a replacement battery I would install it personally as I do have plenty of experience in a mobile repair services including sealed devices such as this, apple, Samsung, HTC and so on which is why I normally only buy cheap devices that can be completely replaced cheaper than replacement parts So I’ll be hunting for a new internal battery. Other than this little battery issue the phone is performing very well and I’m still ultimately satisfied.

My impressions of it are, important caveat, not as a phone. I just use it as a smaller pocket tablet effectively, don’t even have a sim card in mine, so heads up there.
My experiences are mostly about getting some apps on it, games, and web browsing or such.

Right off the bat, the bad.
-There is a VERY loud sound played on turning on AND off. You can’t turn this down, it ignores volume controls, and there is NO option to disable this. So, be warned, this will easily wake you up, and possibly even your neighbor if it restarts in the middle of the night do to getting a sudden critical security update or something.
That said, for those wondering, there is a workaround, leave some earbuds plugged in, it will play to those if they are in (hopefully not breaking them in the process). So before sleeping, and if turning it off for the movies or entering a quiet place, always keep earbuds on hand to plug into it.

-The speaker. While it’s capable of some loud sounds, and not bad audio quality, it’s all coming of out one small spot on the bottom right of the phone. When holding it, especially sideways, you will almost always be covering it, and it gets dampened very easily by your finger resting over it (not enough to truly quiet that movie theater intro like start up sound… but still a lot).

-Probably an issue with many modern phones, but the touch screen does go right up to the very border of the phone, unlike with my older one that had a… “lip” shall we say, at its edges before the screen. The result is while holding it at the edges, a bit of your skin will poke over and count as touching the screen. So normal taps don’t work because it thinks you are now touching in two plus locations when you “tap” with your intended finger. Suffice to say, this has gotten annoying and while I’ve learned to hold it, it is a bit akwards and still happens often enough to be of note.

-The camera, so called 52 megapixel… ya. Not really. Honestly, even just at 13 megapixel it’s not quite up to snuff, still a decent camera, but not as good as might you might thinking reading those numbers in its details.

-When charging, it gets HOT. Not just the phone, also the USB to outlet charging block. No surprise you might say, those always get warm, ya, but this gets HOT. I checked it once with a kitchen thermometer, and this was a couple minutes after unplugging, so it had cooled a bit, but it was over 110. And if you live in a hot area like me (Cali), then you’ll definitely notice and not in a good way when your phone turns into a miniature space heater when you charge it, in the middle of an already blistering hot summers day.

-No micro USB port, so I can’t plug my Android compatible gamepad into it.

The good. The screen is decent.
    The memory is nice.
The CPU is also pretty good, enough for me to play most games ok, though loading times can visibly take a bit for 3d games with more textures in them, but once a given level loads they tend to play well.
The internal storage space is enough for most peoples normal needs.
Its wifi seems reliable (had some not so reliable phones before, this one connects well, stays connected, and maintains pretty constant high speeds).
It comes with a back cover and a screen protector, plus some earbuds default, so that’s nice.
It does charge fairly fast, as long as you aren’t using it. If you are running the screen and an app or something like a game that consumes power, it will charge quite slowly by comparison (more so than you’d expect simply given the draw of running an app with the screen on).
The port you plug in for charging/computer use works both ways, so you can easily put it in without checking its orientation, though as a downside that means you wont be able to use old micro USB cables as spares if you lose this ones, or micro usb devices that might clip onto your phone.
