Assume computer. Arrive on time and in flawless condition. I am using it for movie making using Cut Clip software. Super-fast running the Cut Clip software. Screen is sharp and crystal clear. Others had commented that the sound quality was not the best. I would have to disagree; the sound is perfect. Thanks.

Second update, 11/11/23 (purchased June 2022): You can see from my earlier review that the laptop had to be returned once soon after purchase because the graphics card didn’t work. Acer said they replaced the main board. Kudos to them for fixing the product, but it took two weeks along with my time and effort to get it shipped out, etc. FFWD to today, and it looks like the SSD has failed and the laptop is out of warranty. Now I’m on the hook for replacing it out of pocket, along with the added frustration of reinstalling the OS, all of my apps, etc. Long story short, the machine specs out nicely and the price was lower than a comparable Alienware laptop, but Acer’s component QC leaves a lot to be desired, IMO. Oh, and something else I missed in my initial reviews… The display adapter doesn’t work through the USB3-C ports. Basically, you can’t utilize the high end graphics card through a docking station. You have to plug an HDMI cable directly into the laptop’s port. Kind of a pain if you want to use external monitors. I am going to just buy a new laptop from a better brand and hand this Acer down to my son after I replace the SSD. Pity.
I received the laptop back after a two week turnaround, from the time I dropped it off with FedEx to when I got it back two days ago. According to the repair order, they had to replace the entire main board, probably due to the NVIDIA GPU being faulty. The machine is working flawlessly (hope I’m not jinxing myself) so I will give it 4 stars, knocking 1 off because of Acer’s poor initial QC and the relative hassle of being without my computer for two weeks.
Original review: I will update this review depending on how the repair process goes. I ordered the laptop on Prime Day and received it a few days later. I spent about a week getting it all set up. Launched a game and the frame rate was like a PowerPoint presentation. Weird… I looked in the Device Manager and the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti (a VERY expensive component of this very expensive laptop) wasn’t working. After troubleshooting with no luck, I contacted Acer support via their chat feature. After telling the CS rep what steps I’d taken, they told me to send it back for repair. Hopefully I’ll get it back in 10-15 days. So, for now – Acer gets 1 star from me. Whether that changes and how much will depend on them.

If you’re looking to game directly off this laptop, it handles high end graphics at higher fps very well. However, it gets ridiculously hot and loud right in your face. If, per se, you have it positioned away from you on a desk or equivalent it’s not so bad. Speakers are junk. You’ll be pushing max volume just to hear over the fans. This product is also falsely advertised to have TB4 pass through to DP for NVIDIA dgpu. After trying many combinations from both TB4 ports to external monitor, extensive research with hours of trial and error, it’s most definitely not DP pass through capable. Can easily determine TB4 doesn’t connect to anything other than igpu (which is junk). Best you’ll get is 100mhz refresh to external monitor with HDMI 2.0 and maybe 120mhz with HDMI 2.1 depending on screen resolution and monitor connections. Which is useless for gaming since internal display runs 240 refresh. Not worth the $3k price tag at all. Maybe worth half that with its limitation/annoyances. If you’re looking for a high end gaming laptop… keep looking!

I replaced my desktop with this as i travel for work a ton. well coming from a 1080ti to a 3080ti i thought it was be a massive increase in my whole existence. tbh it wasnt. laptop runs very loud and hot when gaming. if you need something small and portable it is a solid laptop for sure and ive been playing everything just fine. it auto sets everything to the highest settings but i usually try and turn stuff down to keep my laptop from combusting.

Recently purchased this and have had nothing but issues. When it was running it was slow. The past few days it’s been blue screening with a “”Acer driver verifier DMA violation” error message. I got it to run and tried a factory reset but it failed somehow. Then it bluescreened with “Driver power state failure” error message. Now it’s stuck on the sign in because my PIN is somehow lost, the app that resets the PIN is broken, and the fingerprint reader stopped registering anything. I bought this brand new less then one month prior to writing this and the ACER website says it’s out of warranty somehow and does not offer any help.
Avoid this machine

It works really well at doing whatever you need it to do, and you can add an extra nvme drive inside the laptop. You also can run pretty much any game at max settings, play bluestacks (admin privs) and emulators no problem.
The sound on this laptop without headphones suck, but the video quality is really nice. I keep my laptop elevated on a laptop stand so I don’t really worry about any heat issues. Overall I have no issues with this laptop.

I needed a reasonably priced computer for gaming. This fit the bill for me. I have used it for almost a year and have had no issues.

This thing is a surprising amount of power packed into a relatively thin frame. It can handle every game I throw at it and then some… Not to mention running some local AI models with all of thag glorious VRAM.
Only caveats: the speakers are a bit weak (I use headphones normally anyways) and I’ve had recurrent issues with the wifi/Bluetooth adapters (nothing a quick driver reinstall can’t fix even at its worst).
Everything else works flawlessly!
