I haven’t found any real problems with this laptop yet, has a program mapped to a key that allows you to change the mode from battery saving to optimal performance which is really handly. The same program has other features like allowing you to manually control the speed of both of its 2 internal fans (one for cpu and one for gpu). Awesome little laptop for its price point, great for all around use and runs most games at max settings with decent frame rate. Definitely worth the money to me.

I’m actually writing this review on my Nitro 5 and I love this laptop. Actually my 3rd ACER laptop; ACER has been so reliable that it’s my go-to brand and this laptop does not disappoint. I can play Civ on it; I have about 30 Nancy Drew games loaded on it. It performs fantastic and the graphic quality is very satisfying. The only thing I would change is I would get a CD/DVD slot. Sure, there are enough ports on this that I could plug my external drive into it, so I guess it’s just a convenience thing really. When I am using it for gaming, the fans are kind of loud but it really doesn’t bother me. My next laptop is very likely to be an ACER. They’re so reliable and easy to maintain. I have the same quality and performance on this ACER for under $1,000 as my daughter has on her $2500 Surface and I get the satisfaction of having paid mine off using the 12 equal payments with no interest plan. Can’t beat it!

I have +40 years experience in a computer support role. Paid extra to have it shipped promptly because my old Acer died. Item arrived and will not turn on. Customer support was unable to make it turn on and offered I send it in for repair. I asked for a immediate replacement to be sent as I have an immediate need to replace my dead Acer. Customer service representative was not able to offer a replacement, only repair or return for refund. I asked to speak to a Supervisor, CSRep advised no Supervisors available. I explained my experience as a computer CSRep and never was the CS floor left with no supervision and again asked for a Sup and was denied. I’m returning the laptop and will not buy an Acer to replace my dead one. Good CS would be to replace this overnight with a new one. ACER Customer service is not up to industry standards.

I genuinely didn’t know what to expect with this laptop especially it being my very first gaming laptop. But all I ever wanted to play was the isle and if you don’t know what it is, it’s a extremely DEMANDING game and it’s only 20$ but you need such a good setup for it and it broke my heart but I was praying I could run it on atleast low or medium. Nah. It runs the smoothest I’ve ever played a game on epic I literally almost cried like a little boy loading in. Absolutely would recommend you can’t go wrong and it’s such a sharp and slick design. It’s just genuinely a amazing laptop and honestly I’d say it gives PC’s a run for their money. I’m going to be testing out God of War and spider man but I think it will run

Got this for my daily usage and casual gaming and I’m very pleased with it. I’m not sure how it holds up for mmorpg and intensive online gaming, but it’s worked fine for me for single-player games. I played all of Baldurs Gate 3 on this laptop (single-player only), and while the laptop ran super hot, I had fun playing the game and experienced no lag. I did have to get a separate laptop fan, tho–without it, I wouldn’t trust the laptop to hold up. It risked overheating and the screen flickered. This shouldn’t be surprising given the laptop’s specs, tho. You get what you pay for. And like I said, it ran fine with the laptop fan. It definitely needed to be plugged in tho; without that, the battery would die in about half an hour or so.
Overall, great value! Perfect for a casual gamer who doesn’t want to spend crazy $$ or build their own machine.

I have been using this laptop for a week and honestly find it pretty good. I went through a lot of reviews before making my decision and wanted to add my own for anyone thinking of buying this.
PROS:
-The screen is really vibrant. I haven’t noticed any screen bleed or dull colors and the refresh rate is great.
-The laptop stays very cool* under heavy gaming.
-It’s really snappy and responsive. I haven’t noticed any lag.
-The touchpad is very responsive and easy to use.
-The keys are slightly raised and feel a bit soft but in a good way. They’re pleasant to type on and it wasn’t hard to adjust to this smaller layout from a wider desktop keyboard.
CONS:
-The fan is loud when gaming. Like, really, really loud. It might be jarring if you’re coming from a desktop.
-Battery life is pretty bad and the performance decrease when not connected to a charger is not extreme, but noticeable.
NOTES:
-As the other reviews have said, you need to press the power cord in and hear it click twice.
-If you downgraded to Windows 10, you’ll want to redownload the relevant drivers from Acer’s website. I had to redownload the touchpad and io drivers to get mine working again.
-You’ll also want to redownload Nitrosense if you downgrade. You can use it to toggle on coolboost which keeps the laptop extremely cool. You can also allegedly use it to lower the speed of the fans but I didn’t notice a reduction in fan noise so I decided to keep it on coolboost.
All in all? The cons are pretty minor compared to the pros. I got it for a little under 800 dollars and consider that to be a steal.

Snagged this on a black friday deal 2 years ago. Bottled it up and threw everything at it, at once, it is still asking for more to this day! Used for gaming. Laptop makes snarky comments at me when mundanely checking emails.
