I play pool, and am still technically a beginner. I thought a camera like this would be perfect to strap on while I play so that I can go back and evaluate my game. I haven’t used it for that yet, but it takes good pictures and video thus far. I had the name brand when I was married, and this is every bit as good for a fraction of the cost.
Ajax –
This is a fairly complete sports camera kit with a lot of attachments and a waterproof case. It uses standard GoPro style mounts for compatibility with existing or additional accessories. We got this camera to video our drives thru the various nation parks (currently we were using our dash cam for that). The instructions that came with camera could use improvement. The steps to turn on WiFi is incorrect or at best unclear. I spent a lot of time fiddling with camera to get WiFI working. To turn on WiFi, bring up the menu and navigate to and highlight the WiFi option, then press the “OK” button once (NOT the up button and NOT a long press as instructed), the WiFi symbol will display on screen and then the SSID and default password will be displayed. The yellow light on the top of camera will start blinking indicating that WiFi is active. At this point you can connect your mobile device to the camera’s WiFi and use the “XDV” app. I have not figure out how to get the WiFi option checked, consistently and to stay checked after the camera has been powered off. Overall, the camera is usable, works well enough, we’ll see how it does on our next trip.

I wasn’t expecting this action camera to perform so well. The wide angle does a good job capturing the surrounding area. This camera doesn’t do ultra-high FPS UHD video capture and is unfortunately limited to 30 FPS at 4K. The Wi-Fi connectivity is a nice bonus feature allowing me to edit the footage on my phone rather than having to go through my computer.
VR –
When we go on trips, especially those once in a lifetime destinations, I often have multiple cameras like this on my monopod. This is light, take a pretty wide angle video, has good quality video, and comes with a bunch of the stuff I use to attach it to things.
The manual is ‘meh’ but that is pretty typical of this style camera. Two things:
– the battery door is kind of hard to open so you will need the little plastic pry bar thingy they give you
– it does not come with a battery charger base. you have to charge the battery in the camera

Very GoPro like including accessories format. Instructions can be a bit better. Does a very adequate job for my casual use.
